Making the Jump!

Why would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

That is a very reasonable question and one that I heard frequently after going to US Army Jump School. My answer was probably not very reasonable but it made sense to me: I was afraid of heights so I put myself in a position where I had to conquer that fear.

A similar question could be asked of Rachelle Schmersal and me as we leave our long-standing positions to start CloudNow Consulting. Our seats were comfortable. The planes were cruising at a pleasant altitude. Why would we head for the door, throw it open, and jump out?

This answer is considerably more reasonable (I hope).  Rachelle and I came together over a common desire to put our clients’ needs first. For us, that means that we want to be able to make the final decisions about anything that impacts client experience. And we believe that pretty much everything impacts client experience.

With that thought in the forefront of our minds, we created CloudNow Consulting. Rachelle brings a strong background in collaboration and networking. I bring data center and cloud experience. Together, we can serve our clients as trusted advisors to help them select the “as a Service” offerings that best meet their needs.

We begin by working with our clients to understand their business and technical requirements. We then bring recommendations to the table and help create the selection criteria. Once the client has made their decision, we remain involved throughout implementation to ensure that their requirements and timetables are being met. At every stage, we keep the client experience foremost in our minds.

Let’s be honest, customer experience is a widely used term that can mean many different things or nothing at all. At CloudNow Consulting, we believe that quality customer experience comes from expertise applied in a consistent manner. We do the work for our clients, and we apply a framework that has shown itself to result in projects that complete on time, under budget, and deliver real business value.

The framework we apply begins when we start discussing the project and continues to its successful conclusion. We employ state of the art tools to create easily digested comparisons of possible providers. We assist with content to present to executive and board level leadership to gain their buy-in. Our role is to perform the difficult tasks and make the entire experience pleasant and easy for our clients.

So here we are right outside the door of the plane, thousands of feet in the air. Is it a little scary? Absolutely. Is it exhilarating? For sure.  In the end, though, by keeping our focus on our clients, we fully believe that our parachute will open. We hope you will join us in this adventure.
